The Warmth of A Winter Wedding

Traditionally, summer is the season for weddings. The idea being perhaps that we’re better able to rely on the weather. Of course, this is pretty nonsensical considering the unpredictable nature of the British climate. In reality, the summer months are as likely to offer gale force winds and driving rain as any other time of the year.

Now, there’s nothing nicer than glorious sunshine for getting spliced, but unfortunately the weather is the one thing the wedding planner can’t predict. So, why not throw caution to the wind, rain and cold and think about a winter wedding instead? The clear, crisp days of the autumn and winter months can be just as perfect as any amount of summer sunshine.

Embracing all that’s evocative of the changing seasons can be an inspiring theme upon which to base your big day. Look to your natural surroundings if you really want to make a statement. The buttery yellows, burnt reds and golden browns of the autumn season seize your attention and demand that you stop and stare.

The magic of this season of mists and mellow fruitfulness can be reflected in the attendants’ attire. The bride’s gown could also contain elements of autumnal colour. This seasonal scheme needn’t be restricted solely to your clothing choices either; it can be incorporated into the table decorations and floral arrangements too. Autumn often assaults the senses, so what better time of year to put away the pastels and opt for something a little more opulent.

Mother of the bride outfits can also embrace these bolder colours which may be better suited to some skin tones. The pastel shades of summer generally look better on darker skin, so the warmer hues of autumn and winter are more likely to flatter fairer skin that’s been starved of the sunshine of summer holidays.

The winter months provide a glorious palette of colours from which to choose. Berry reds and holly greens can really evoke a sense of the festive season. Christmas is a wonderful time for a winter wedding, giving you free rein to run with the opulence and extravagance of the celebration.
Why not indulge your guests with a winter wonderland? Create a magical mood with decorative lighting and ‘Christmassy’ colours. It’s also the best time of year to serve heart-warming, home-cooked style food for the wedding breakfast. Warming cocktails make for an interesting change to the normal welcome drink of champagne and your guests are sure to join you in the spirit of the occasion.

POSTGIRL GOT LOST IN THE JUNGLE

MEJIKUHIBINIU BAG
Hi everyone!

It is been so long time ago since my last post. I was extremely busy with my thesis and my super heavy schedule with a lot of assignments and something like that.

I have a lot of story to tell, but I still dont have time to write them all over here--maybe later. And I have received the amazing giveaway gift from Johanna from Handmade Dreams of Mine. I will make the review of those amazing Montagne Jeunesse masks as soon as possible, and she added a surprising gift! A very beautiful bracelet! Thank you so much, Johanna. You are very nice! I have sent a surprise package to you back but it might take a very long time. Just wait, honey ^^

Now I will show you a very adorable bag from my sponsor, Mejikuhibiniu bag. Mejikuhibiniu bag is a local brand from Indonesia by Ozzie Prasilina. It sells beautiful bags with affordable price. Some of them are under $10! Mention @MJbag on twitter for asking the price or further information.

I hope you all enjoy the holiday! And I wish you a very nice weekend, kisses!

DRENCHED IN AFTERNOON SUNLIGHT

BONVIEUX DRESS // BONVIEUX BAG

Hi everyone!

Awww finally it is Saturday and I can post something about my daily outfit, read some interesting blogs and reply all the comments. I was so busy these past few days with my super crazy schedule and my thesis kills me softly. I hope I can graduate college before August 2012 and I promise I will throw a giveaway with bigger gifts!

This is my new vintage dress from Bonvieux with collars. I love this dress and I wear it again and again. The floral pattern gives the feminine touch and I pair it with my Bonvieux retro sling bag. I really like this dress because honestly it is quite difficult to find the right size beautiful vintage dress for me especially for my huge body. But Bonvieux suits me well.

I wish you a very nice weekend.
